Pagoda Point – History of the name
A view point; once adorned with stone built pagodas, it is now home to a large temple. Pagoda Point, located on the eastern part of Yercaud Hills, is also known as Pyramid Point. This point has derived its name from four piles of stones that form a pyramid shape. Also it is believed to be constructed by the local tribes. However the term Pyramid Point is not familiar to the tourists and the locals. Therefore the place is called as Pagoda Point.
